Center for Prosecutor Integrity Unveils New Website
WASHINGTON / July 9, 2013 – Following survey results which show widespread distrust in America’s judicial system, the Center for Prosecutor Integrity (CPI) is unveiling a new online resource, the CPI website.
The CPI website was designed to help preserve the presumption of innocence, assure equal treatment under the law, and end wrongful convictions. The website includes fact sheets, survey details, research findings, solutions, and more. The free resource can used by lawmakers, citizens, and prosecutors alike.
CPI offers information on Conviction Integrity Units and Advisory Panels on Wrongful Convictions. The website also includes Model Legislation for lawmakers who want to reduce wrongful convictions and protect constitutional guarantees of due process of law and probable cause.
The Center for Prosecutor Integrity is recognizing exemplary prosecutors by featuring them on the CPI website.
“We need to rein in prosecutors who pursue overly zealous practices in sexual assault and domestic violence cases,” says CPI spokeswoman Sheryle Hutter, “Thanks to this new CPI resource, we might start to see a reduction in wrongful convictions.”
The Center for Prosecutor Integrity website can be visited here: https://www.prosecutorintegrity.org.
