Families First UN Initiative

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION a unique and collaborative approach to creating transformational change for families and children. We seek to transform systems and empower communities through meaningful partnerships, compassionate action, and dedicated advocacy. Our mission focuses on creating safe, supportive, and thriving environments where every family can flourish, every child can realize their potential, and every parent—healthy fathers and mothers—can actively contribute to nurturing the next generation.

OUR VISION

We envision a future where every family, healthy father, mother, and child is empowered to bring their unique perspective to bear on society’s most monumental challenges. Together, they will participate in the search for bold, inclusive solutions that foster strength, resilience, and hope. Our vision is one of unity and collective action—where families across the United States and worldwide stand protected, supported, and heard. By collaborating with United Nations members, corporations, NGOs, and embassies in New York, Geneva, and beyond, we aim to create a world where families are safeguarded, children’s rights are championed, and communities prosper through equity, compassion, and transformative change. Your voice and perspective are crucial to this collective vision.

Historical Significance in The Families First UN Initiative

The Families First UN Initiative draws inspiration from institutions shaping global humanitarian and justice landscapes. The United Nations has been a beacon of hope and international cooperation since its founding in 1945, working to promote peace, security, and human rights worldwide. The Red Cross, with its iconic red emblem, has provided critical aid and relief for over a century, representing a legacy of humanitarian service. Our use of red, white, and blue not only acknowledges the United States’ enduring commitment to justice and democracy but also honors the ideals of collaboration and service embodied by these institutions. The Families First UN Initiative Team aims to create lasting positive change through this shared legacy by empowering families and children globally.

Our History

The Families First UN Initiative Team’s goals are aligned with UNICEF’s, providing reassurance and confidence to our stakeholders. We work with all the central bodies of the United Nations and all the departments that work with children and families, contributing to critical documents such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our global collaborations with member states of the United Nations, multiple NGOs, Worldwide Corporations, Representatives and Staff of the United Nations, Embassies in New York and Geneva, and Global Communities are all part of this alignment. This collaboration draws inspiration from global institutions that have profoundly shaped the humanitarian, justice, and developmental landscape for families and children. Since its founding, UNICEF has been a lifeline for children worldwide, advocating tirelessly for their rights and well-being. Our partnership signifies our alignment with UNICEF’s goals to promote every child’s survival, protection, and development, acknowledging the critical role of parents and families as their foremost protectors and guides.

The Families First UN Initiative also honors the historical significance of the United Nations, a beacon of global cooperation, peace, and security since 1945, committed to advancing human rights and dignity for all. Our use of red, white, and blue in our logo not only nods to the enduring values of justice, hope, and equality championed by the United States, but also echoes the tireless efforts of the Red Cross in providing aid and relief to those in need. We form a united front to protect and empower families, with parents and children at the center of every solution.

Our mission resonates deeply with UNICEF’s unwavering dedication to children and their families. Parents, healthy fathers, and mothers are essential for building strong communities and nurturing resilient children. By working in partnership with UNICEF and our other global allies, we aim to transform the future—ensuring that every child has the chance to grow, thrive, and fulfill their potential. This is more than just a mission; it is a promise to every family across the United States and worldwide. Together, we will rise to meet the challenges before us, striving to bring hope, justice, and transformative change to every doorstep, with compassion and courage as our guiding light.

The Families First UN Initiative stands with the UN in declaring that child rights are human rights. But we go further: a child’s right to maintain loving relationships with both healthy parents must be a global priority.

This World Children’s Day, let us renew our commitment to creating spaces where children can grow in peace, harmony, and love. Whether through advocacy, education, or simply raising awareness, each of us can play a role in ensuring no child is denied access to a parent who can nurture and protect them.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) gives us tools and the roadmap to unite and speed up the fight for our rights. We celebrate the 75th anniversary of the UDHR. Stand up for Dignity, Freedom and Justice for all.
